We're being treated to the Lower Mainland wind today.
What to do if the power goes off only fifteen minutes into a class period:
-tell ghost stories
-play four on a couch
-play balderdash
-read aloud
At least that's what we did today. Apparantly one of the science teachers got the old candle out and just kept teaching away. Crazy guy. I feel like I should have been a little more inventive.
The destruction at my house right now:
-no power
-at least 3 trees down--one narrowly missing the house (its branches are resting on the roof right now)
-aluminum debris from the roof of the barn across the street strewn along our driveway
However, the river does not seem to be breaking its banks yet--today we got the most rain that we're going to get, hopefully. If the bridge on our driveway gets flooded, we'll be playing Robinson Crusoe for a while.

Has your school been cancelled today? I heard there are many that have been.
I was saddened by the loss of my mitten that you knit me. It is on the #17 bus but I don't think I could get it. Translink should have some sort of giant lost and found but I doubt that they do.
that would be one strange collection of lost & found items.
margaret i hope your house is still doing fine.
