breaktime

I'm about halfway through marking my grade tens' provincial exams, and it's time for a break. So I snuck out of my office to go to the washroom, ate an apple, checked blogs and my email, and now I will post here. "Provincial exams?" you say. "And you're marking them?" you say. "Do you get paid for that?" The answers are yes, yes, and no. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to be impartial because even though they don't have names on them, I recognize 99% of the writing (leaving the other 1% to be figured out by process of elimination.) But the province wants to save money. At least grade 12 provincials are marked by hired people. Alrighty, that's enough of that rant. Some of my students are doing remarkably well, actually. And some not so well. But that was to be expected, I guess.
