The high lights of last week:
-my homeroom got third in our all-school homeroom competition. After much debate over what to be (for the longest time we were going to be gangsta's, which I balked at because I had no idea how I was going to pull that one off) we ended up being the "pink and black" (we fight back) team. It was actually quite fun, and my grade ten boys were good sports and wore the pink with pride. Ha, one of them even pulled off a cartwheel in our team cheer! It was fun to be a camp counsellor for an afternoon, again.
-Sara P slept over at our apartment last night. It was good to see her again, after a couple of months.
-The weather is beautifully autumnal right now. And it's not even raining.
-We bought our airplane tickets to and from Winnipeg/Omaha for Christmas. It'll be good to go home, although my parents will probably be living in a different house. (Strange . . . .)
Somethings that haven't been so great:
-(This is a school rant, so if you don't want to hear about it, skip this paragraph.) I've been feeling like my extra--so I can be considered full time--half-course is a bit off a ball and chain. First, I don't know the material very well; second, I have to stay exactly in line with the other teacher because he's supposed to take over next week, and he wants his two classes to be together: third, the only materials that have been given to me are fill in the blank worksheets. The worksheets are okay (but not great) if you know the material well and can augment it with your own interesting knowledge. But I don't. The especially frustrating part is that even the assignments aren't written down! They're in the other teacher's head. Well how am I supposed to know that! Grrrr. I'll be happy to hand it over again next week--then maybe I can get some of my other work that has been on the back burner since I don't have a prep right now done. Sorry for that rant.
-This happened two weeks ago by now, but Scott and I were rear-ended. Don't worry, we an our car are fine--although we still want to get our car looked at. It happened because we had to stop quickly for a red light when we were coming down a hill on a rainy morning. The car behind us couldn't stop in time. The bad part is that it's renewed my jumpy passenger/driver tendencies that I acquired a year and a bit ago after my accident. I just don't trust other people not to hit me.
Anyway, I should really be planning that one class. I hope this finds you well.

oh, sorry to hear about the accident... good thing you're ok. why did sara p. stay at your place for the night? is she destitute?
No, but she is carless, We didn't feel like bringing her back to Surrey to take the skytrain on Saturday night.
You don't have very good luck with cars! (are you turning into Mom?) I'm glad it wasn't more serious.
And annoying about that class that's in someone else's head. What course is it? Whose head? Why?
It's in the head of the teacher that I'm team-teaching the course with. He's taught it so many times that he doens't need to write it down.
