prospects

I'm waiting on news for a non-teaching job prospect in Iowa right now.  I sent them my resume last week, and they called back wanting to know when we're moving, and what I would like for a salary.  Two promising questions, I think.  We'll see what happens with that one.  It's kind of strange and scary to think of not teaching.  But it also seems kind of liberating.  What, no homework or evening events that I'm obligated to volunteer for?  A strange concept.

Josh and Sarah are here right now.  It's good.  For some reason Josh and Scott get really silly together.  I don't know why.  Sarah and I shake our heads at them.

People keep asking me if we've started packing.  We haven't.  That makes me ask the question: should we have started packing already?  We live in a one bed-room apartment.  How long can it possibly take to pack up 700 square feet?  I think once June comes we'll start getting concerned.  Maybe people ask that because they don't know what else to say to us.

Today is the Queen's birthday.  (Queen Victoria, that is.)  Thus, the whole country gets the day off.  I'm going to miss the mandatory once-a-month holidays of Canada.

Happy Birthday Vicki. Always nice to get a holiday for such things :)

Hope the "non-teaching job" works out, and if so, I'm looking forward to hearing details!

wait till last minute with packing. then you can enjoy the exciting search for things you forgot in your hurry and the joys of having to replace somewhat valuable stuff that happened to be sitting in that box that you accidently left in the closet...
keeps life interesting.

good luck with the new job! hope it works out!
