Life has a funny way of circling back on itself. This move to Winnipeg is in some ways exactly like our move to Abbotsford five years ago. Like our move to Abbotsford, Scott moved to the new place before me. Also, like our move to Abbotsford, Scott is without a vehicle. Funny that the way we moved away from Winnipeg is also the way that we're moving back. However, there are some fairly significant differences. One of which we heard the news about yesterday--we've found an apartment! It's a one bedroom suite on the main floor of a duplex/house. The landlord lives upstairs with his roommate. The house is over 100 years old, but it has all new windows, siding, and insulation. And new appliances. And there's a new washer and dryer in the basement that is ours to use (there are two sets). It has hardwood floors throughout. Most importantly, it is within walking or biking distance of all of our favourite places to go in the city. That's the part different from Abbotsford where the only things within walking distance were Safeway and Blockbuster. Probably the only thing we'll have to drive for is work. And to see Scott's family--although we could bike there if we really wanted to. Scott can bike to work, too, it'll just take about 40 minutes, I think. Anyway, aside from limited closet space, it's perfect and we can't wait to move in!
Now I just need to find a job. I have something possibly in the works, but I'm not going to say much more in case nothing comes of it. I'll share the news if something does!
Three and a half more days of school. After which I will clean my classroom out in a hurry, do up my report cards, and head to Winnipeg for the May long weekend. And hopefully get some packing in there.
