the abbot's ford

I went back to the ole hometown yesterday--Abbotsford. It was kind of fun. I went to the church that my family helped start called Hillside in the morning, then spent the day at my friend Stephanie's house--a couple of friends from highschool came over too and we played a couple games of Settlers. The most amusing (at least for me) part of the whole experience was that I saw a few of my teachers from elementary and highschool there, and they didn't recognize me. I of course knew who they were, but they kept on glancing at me with a sort of stupid look on their face. Then they would come up and introduce themselves. It was quite funny. I guess I've changed quite a bit. I drove past our old house and church and the high school. Strange how it all comes back right away--I never drove in that town because we moved before I had my license, but I knew exactly where to go. Eight years of driving up and down the mamoth hill called Hazel are still ingrained in me.

Tomorrow school starts. I'll be observing for the first week or so, and then will slowly work my way into teaching. Tomorrow is just a half day during which we'll have an assembly to introduce the staff. We're doing a little skit as an English department, for which I need to make a "Dork College" t-shirt.

Ah, that's it.
