- The principal visited my class yesterday. It was the really high achieving class that always has good things to say in discussions--so it went fairly well. Dennis (the principal) gave me a glowing report, which made me happy. He's coming again tomorrow afternoon, but it will be during the low achieving class that has that one unruly boy . . . I'll have to enforce martial law on him (the student.) It's a little nerve wracking--having someone in your class evaluating you
- I was stopped at a light yesterday, and I watched a man pick his nose in his rear-view mirror in my rear-view mirror.
- My mom comes a week from today. Then the Friday after that we're gonna drive home!
- Thursday and Friday of this week are teacher's convention, then Monday is Thanksgiving. So we're about to have a five day weekend! And I love teacher's conventions! Plus another cool thing: there are people I know presenting workshops at the convention including my grade seven teacher, Mr. De Jong.
- We had a rather tense staff meeting yesterday afternoon. The tenseness centered around whether or not the board can require the teachers to be a part of a faith community outside of the school. Reminded me a bit of Dordt's requirement that professors need to be part of the CRC . . . . It was a little strange to be there since I'm not officially part of the staff.
- I'm getting tired out by this teaching stuff. I don't know how teachers do it!

Why do you love teachers' conventions? I better send you that postcard right away. You have what, two weeks left?
Okay, I'm coming out as a closet reader of your blog Margaret! Are you in Vancouver too? Teaching? Thanks for writing - I love reading!
Melanie
whoah. A closet reader! Don't know how I feel about that. :)
you know you love it. Melanie's the best closet reader. You should read her blog too. Wow, less than 2 weeks until you're home again. Hmm. Seems crazy, baby sister. :)
Melanie! I didn't realize it was you! You are most welcome to read--I'm honored.
