So much to do, so little time. I always have these grand plans for the huge amounts of work that I'm going to get done on the weekend, and it usually ends up not getting done. Kind of frustrating. So for this evening I think I'll settle for finishing marking the personal narrative essays that I've been promising my grade tens for almost a week, and figuring out what I'll be teaching in Socials 10 this week. It will be my turn to take over the class on Wednesday (I'm team-teaching it with another teacher) and I don't really know the material very well yet. Sooooo, I should work on that.
Our friends from church are buying a condo. It's crazy how much money you have to fork out around here just to own a small living space. But then, would you rather pay rent for the rest of your life or actually have some capital when you move? Sigh. I know it's true. The smart thing would be for us to buy something. But what a hassle!
This should be a busy week:
-Monday--staff meeting after school (that always messes me up because I can't get my planning done at school)
-Wednesday--our church's first film club meeting will be at our place. We bought brie for the occasion
-Friday--our first staff social, which I am in charge of planning (with another teacher) We're going to have a bigger and better competition. Should be fun.
-Saturday--the 20 somethings from church have all been invited to the house of one of the 50 something couples for supper.
-And then it'll be Sunday again. Hopefully the huge stack of marking that's staring at me from the coffee table will be diminished if not non-existent by then.
