Scott and I went to Winnipeg for a few days. We left Wednesday afternoon and returned late last night. The purpose for the trip was to attend the funeral of my aunt, Tami. She had cancer for the last year and a bit. My whole family was there. Despite the sad reason for the trip, it was good to see our families--even though it was really too short to spend much time with them.
Now: back to school tomorrow, report cards due on Tuesday, and a nasty cold that makes getting work done difficult.
I think I'll go to bed soon.
Oh and another thing: why is it that so many people have a bad attitude about Gen 300? (The course at my alma matter, I mean.) It seems like the sort of course that is what you make of it. And in some ways, it's the essence of what the place is all about (or should be, at least.)

some people like to think they know more than the profs. they don't.
haha, i am one of them. ;)no, actually, i thought it was a good idea. i just didnt like some aspects about it. mostly stupid people who didnt care or think about any of the topics but still thought it necessary to speak out loudly...
i think what really annoyed me the most was the credit value given to a course that had little to do with the rest of my academic career. i didnt have/make time to read everything cause i was reading stuff for my real classes (real should be in quotes but my keyboard sucks and the quotes key doesnt work).
in retrospect, too much value was placed on that course by all involved. i got a b and was super pissed cause itd affect my gpa, blablabla, but no one really cares about it outside of dordt, so it really didnt matter that much. that being the main reason that i didnt like the course (that is, that i thought it was using too much of my time and affecting my academic profile...)(yeah, despite popular belief, i did care about that), i really actually had no reason to dislike it. so i was silly.
If you don't consider it a "real" course, then why go to a liberal arts school?
Margaret burns Amanda!
I hate people, shocking but true. Thats what annoyed me about the class but I enjoyed some topics and hearing Everett lose his temper before me.
Because people hear in advance from other people that they should hate it because the original people don't know how to keep themselves from complaining and infecting the attitudes of others.
And sometimes there's just one dumb person in the class who talks too much.
Hi, Margaret! (*wave *)
Are you still sending the lamp to my house? Is it on its way?
