I think that the thought that we're moving in less than four weeks hasn't really hit me yet. I know in my head that it's going to happen, but we've been thinking and talking about it for so long, that the thought that it's actually going to happen very soon is hard to grasp. For the sake of my sanity (or to stress myself out even more) here's what has to happen before we leave:
- finish school, which includes marking assignments I haven't gotten to yet, putting the finishing touches on my humanities exam, and then marking that exam, marking the English 10 exam, writing report cards, organizing all my stuff so that I can pass it on to the next person, cleaning my classroom and my office. I think that's a pretty good list.
- Sort through and pack up our apartment. The thing that comforts me about this is that I went through all my stuff last summer and pared it down a lot. So aside from going through my clothes and shoes again, the sorting thing won't be too bad.
- clean our apartment. Our landlady already gave us a big list of things that we need to clean. But after a summer on the cleaning crew for the college I went to, cleaning our apartment shouldn't be too bad--we're certainly not as messy as some of the apartments I cleaned that summer.
- See everyone one last time, and then again one last time.
- Go camping with the other VKs. That is, if Scott can make himself be a good camper.
That's all I can think of right now.
One thing that I hate is voice mail. When we get voice mails, there's a little red light on our phone that blinks. I don't like that blinking light. I don't really know why. Maybe it's because behind that blinking red light, there's a potentially angry parent. Most likely I'm just being paranoid, and usually the blinking light is just a message from someone on staff, reminding us all about something. But that little red light . . . I don't like it.
I have to go help serve at the bbq right now.

No matter how many nice parents I meet, I'm always convinced that they're not satisfied with my work. It's irritating. Sorry about the red light.
well, actually, it was just the secretary reminding us of something. Thanks for your concern, though, Andrea!
oooh, cleaning dorms... some good stories came out of that summer! knowing you, however, i am sure that your place wont be near as bad as some of the rooms we had to attack. you at least understand the concept of garbage cans and vacuuming.
11months waiting for pictures. thats pretty bad. we at least have our own pictures; we are just facing some miscommunication about how to handle copies and extra prints... hope you get yours soon!
hey, what happened to the 10 minute blogs? can't wait until you guys are here!
sorry. I've been busy. But I guess 10 minutes shouldn't really take that long, eh? I think busyness has sort of swamped any mental energy I had.
