During my first year at Dordt. my friends Sara, Beka, and I developed a tradition we called "blenders." Sara and Beka both bought cheap blenders at Savers, which is where the name of the tradition came from. At about 8 or 9 in the evening a couple times a week, Sara would appear at my dorm room door or leave a message on the white board saying, "blenders at 10 tonight." So we'd all pile into Sara or Beka's dorm room, each bringing some sort of ingredient and a mug. Those ingredients would then go in the blender. I think my favorite blender had instant coffee grounds in it. It was good, seriously! Anyway, I was thinking the other day while I was at work, that this job at Booster Juice is sort of a continuation of the blender tradition. Now I make smoothies for 8 hours a day 5 days a week. Strangely, I like it. For now, at least.
And I have a job for the fall, too. Strange how my life is seeming to fall together now. I even have a place to live with friends from high school in the fall. I was telling Scott the other day that my getting this job makes sense. It seems like the right step in my life. Yay. Now to start planning.
