did you know?

You know that song One Great City by the Weakerthans? The first verse goes,

late afternoon another day is nearly done
a darker grey is breaking through a lighter one
a thousand sharpened elbows in the underground
that hollow hurried sound of feet on polished floor
and in the dollar store the clerk is closing up
and counting loonies trying not to say
i hate winnipeg

Well, it's about Winnipeg Square, where I work. I bought a pack of Trident Spearmint gum at that dollar store on Monday. Whenever I hear that song, it makes me feel nostalgic. Even though I'm not from Winnipeg. Just thought you'd like to know.

Really. A Smid wedding super fun? Things seem to be changing. You should listen to the Weakerthans. They're from Winnipeg.
