plagarcheatism

I just caught my first case of plagarism. A copy and paste job--three pages of it. Why oh why?

Three more weeks until Christmas vacation! Anyone want to bring Scott and I to the airport in Seattle? We will pay for fuel!

I think I'm addicted to coffee. I didn't have any until after school, and by the end of the school day my head was aching. Or it could be the children. They've been known to cause headaches, too. Especially on Monday afternoons. If you have children, or plan on having children, please impress on them that Sunday is a school night. Otherwise their teachers bear the burden of too little sleep after a weekend of going to bed late.

I'm going to talk to the principal and to the student today. It's three pages of copy and paste, but the url is at the bottom of it, so the student may think that the article has been cited correctly. However, you can't just copy three pages . . . .

Yes, we're going to Iowa for Christmas. My sister is getting married. We will arrive December 24, and Scott will leave shortly before or after New Year. I will be in S.C. until January 5.

oh, that's a nightmare. some times they don't actually mean to plagiarize--they just don't know the correct way to use sources. but it's a sticky situation. do you have to go straight to the principal? or could you talk with the student first? good luck.
